Overview

This webinar mechanical seal failures, what to do in the event of such an occurrence, and how to properly investigate them. This presentation discusses the typical failure modes of major mechanical seal components and their common causes. In addition to this information, the webinar provides real-world examples of damaged mechanical seal components.

Learning Level - Intermediate

Intermediate level training is designed for individuals who have some experience and basic understanding of the topic. It builds upon basic concepts and expands the breadth and depth of understanding supporting the development of skills. It is recomended that attendees complete basic level training on mechanical seals prior to attending this course.

Audience

This course is designed for individuals with basic knowledge of mechanical seals or those who need a refresher, including: pump system operators, maintenance personnel, pump system designers and owners, technical sales, and engineers.

  1. Understand how the entire pumping system affects mechanical seal performance and influences seal failures.
  2. Know the common failure modes for the major mechanical seal components.
  3. Obtain information on how to properly troubleshoot mechanical seals and pumping systems.

Webinar Instructions

  1. Click the Contents tab and select "View Live Webinar".  After the live webinar is completed, return to the Contents tab.
  2. Click "Complete Quiz for Live Webinar" to answer quiz questions. You will have 10 attempts and must get at least 80% correct to proceed. After completing the quiz, return to the Contents tab.
  3. For webinar series, continue this process until you complete all the webinar sessions.
  4. Click "Complete Webinar Evaluation" to provide your feedback on the webinar to PSM. Scroll down to view all feedback questions, there are questions that expand past the size of the window. 
  5. Click the button “View/Print Your Certificate” in the box titled “Claim Credits & Certificate to save or print your certificate of completion. If you ever lose your certificate, you can come back to the PSM website and view it on your transcript (found in the Dashboard).
  6. During the Q&A portion of the training sessions questions are welcome that relate to the material presented and the instructor will do their best to address them within the context of the training provided.
