Certification preparation for PSC - Level 1:

This course is designed for individuals who have taken the pump system level 1 training or have the requisite knowledge and are looking to prepare for the PSC - Level certification exam.
Audience:
This course is appropriate for those looking to achieve their PSC - Level 1 Certification. This includes engineers, sales, applications, operators, technicians and maintenance personnel. Prior to taking this certification exam preparatory course, it is recommended that new engineers or those without a technical degree have knowledge of the topics or take the Introductory Pump & System |On-Demand Training Course and pump system level 1 training prior to taking this certification preparation. Knowledge of basic algebra is required to complete related pump system calculations.
What is a Pump System Certification Level 1?
Visit www.pumps.org/psc for full details on PSC - Level 1. In short, this certification indicates that an individual understands the purpose, function, and operating characteristics of positive displacement and rotodynamic pumps and systems. Level 1 certified individuals should have the fundamental knowledge of basic pump industry calculations and tools, different liquid properties and be able to analyze their interactions with equipment and a system to make informed pump hydraulic selections. The candidate should be able to collaborate with professionals to identify equipment type, acceptable pump performance, installation and operational is-sues, and energy optimization opportunities.
This training specifically covers the knowledge domains included in the PSC - Level 1 Certification Examination with the goal of preparing individuals for the certification exam as outlined in HI 41.8 Program Guideline for Pump System Certification. However, this training overview is developed by HI University, which is separate from the Hydraulic Institute certification committee that developed the PSC - Level 1 Certification Exam and the developers did not have access to the certification committee or the certification exam.
