Overview

This two-part webinar will cover the content within the Drivers Application Guidebook for Electric Motors. It will include motor application as it relates to driving pumps, providing information to understand how a motor drives a pumping system, and how the motors are limited within certain pumping systems. The webinar will guide the audience in understanding application, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of an electrical motor for general pumping applications.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion, learners should be able to:

• Understand application considerations, including sizing and selection for load types, electrical requirements, service factor, insulation system, starting requirements, frame designations, mounting, and enclosures.
• Explain installation considerations, including power quality and factor, protective devices, installation with a VFD, spacing, coupling, alignment, startup and commissioning.
• Express maintenance and troubleshooting considerations that are important to safe and proper operation, such as lubrication, motor alignment, bearings, windings, vibration, temperature, and power quality.

Refunds & Cancellations

All refund requests must be made in writing to training@pumps.org. Full refunds will be issued for any live course or webinar that has been cancelled.

Course Instructions

1. Click the "Contents" tab and select "View On-Demand Webinar".  After viewing the entire video, return to the Contents tab.
2. Continue this process until you view and complete all the parts for this On-Demand Webinar Series.
3. Click "Complete Quiz for On-Demand Webinar" to answer quiz questions. You will have 10 attempts and must get at least 80% correct to proceed to the next session. After completing the quiz, return to the Contents tab.
4. Click "Webinar Evaluation" to provide your feedback on the webinar to PSM. Scroll down to view all feedback questions, there are questions that expand past the size of the window. 
5. Click the button “View/Print Your Certificate” in the box titled “Claim Credits & Certificate to save or print your certificate of completion. If you ever lose your certificate, you can come back to the PSM website and view it on your transcript (found in the Dashboard).

The acceptance of continuing education as it applies to fulfillment of the state licensing requirements for professional designations is at the pleasure of the individual state licensing boards. It is the responsibility of the individual participants to be knowledgeable about their state requirements.
