Transient Pressure Monitoring: Assessing Waterhammer

Overview: 

Is your pumping/piping system subjected to the same pressures predicted in its hydraulic analysis/computer model?  Do you know how often waterhammer pressure surges occur and at what amplitude, low and high?  Know what you don’t know using transient pressure monitoring (TPM).  This webinar will review the role of TPM, its importance, where it can be applied, and some computer models of lessons learned in field examples.

Learning Level - Advanced:

Advanced level training is designed for individuals with a strong foundational knowledge and experience who seek to enhance their broad skills and knowledge. Advance training delves into complex concepts, analysis, design, optimization, and problem solving.

It is recommended that attendees have intermediate level knowledge or complete intermediate level training prior to attending this course.

Audience:

Individuals looking gain in depth technical knowledge or those looking for a refresher on applied fundamentals, including experienced maintenance and operation personnel, pump system designers and owners, technical sales, and engineers.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, attendees should be able to:

  • Learn how the full extent of surge pressures can be captured using transient pressure monitoring. 
  • Learn how TPM can be used in detecting, diagnosing, and protecting from problematic events such as pump trips, valve closures, etc.
  • Learn how transient monitoring can provide critical information to verify equipment and piping design criteria.
